Camping in Taitung
During the Spring Festival, invited to go camping at an orchard in Taitung by my father’s friend, my family decided to take a trip for three days in Taitung. When we knew that we needed to set up camping tents by ourselves, all of us were not only excited but also worried because it was a novel experience for us. Thanks to my aunt’s help, she lent us two camping tents and taught us the method to set up these two camping tents. She was like our consultant, for she always reminded us of precautions and resolved our questions.
However, here lies another problem. It was pretty unfortunate that we would have a cold snap as we took a trip in Taitung. Therefore, how to keep warm was our most important issue. Luckly, camping tents were so windproof that we could prevent ourselves from sleeping in the chilly and nippy wind. Besides, due to my father’s friend, we could take a hot shower and did not have to worry about the electricity. He even gave some vegetables and fruits which were planted by him to us. Hence, this trip was very successful since many people were kind to us.
In addition to going camping at an orchard of my father’s friend, we still visited a few tourist attractions in Taitung. The first place was Chulu Ranch, where has a lot of adorable small animals and dairy cows. The milk made on this ranch was considerably well-known; thus, lots of people would buy souvenirs that were made of milk to give friends or relatives gifts. After Chulu Ranch, we went to Chishang to have lunch and ride bicycles for sightseeing. There were numerous people so that it took us much time to wait in line for lunch and drive cars in traffic congestion. These two tourist destinations made us too exhausted to go to another place.
At the end of this trip, in order to beat the traffic, we decided to leave early. Therefore, we did not arrange any schedule for the third day. On the way home, we found a famous restaurant which sold steamed dumplings. It’s no wonder that it was crowded with people because the steamed dumplings which it sold were the best steamed dumplings I have ever eaten. If I tour in Taitungt the next time, I will visit that restaurant and order steamed dumplings again, for they are worthwhile to buy.
